May 3rd, 2010 – Community Garden Project Part 3

3D View 5This Monday we will reconvene at Vesper College, 201 6th St. SE (see contact page for map and directions) at 7:00 pm to discuss the nuts and bolts of building two table and bench sets for local community gardens.

We have been working with the Snelling Hamline garden and St. Anthony Main garden in St. Paul to develop a solution to their need for a community gathering space, which is illustrated in the attached renderings and construction drawings prepared by Korrin Lohmann and Justin Biteler.  Thank you both for all of your efforts!!!

Both gardens have committed funds to pay for material costs, and are willing to help install.  Our task is to coordinate on fabricating these structures in Vesper’s workshop over the next few months, the goal being to have them completed for the annual Community Garden tour in early August.

Please come and lend a hand in this process, we’re having a great time getting to know the gardeners and working together to build solid relationships with these communities for further projects in the future.

More hands = More fun
