This Monday we will reconvene at Vesper College, 201 6th St. SE (see contact page for map and directions) at 7:00 pm to discuss the nuts and bolts of building two table and bench sets for local community gardens. 
 
We have been working with the Snelling Hamline garden and St. Anthony Main garden in St. Paul to develop a solution to their need for a community gathering space, which is illustrated in the attached renderings and construction drawings prepared by Korrin Lohmann and Justin Biteler.  Thank you both for all of your efforts!!!

We would like to take a break from guest lecturers this month to host a round-table discussion about some future building projects we intend to coordinate through the Guild. We have had a diverse array of programming over the course of the last year, and it seems time to finally get our hands dirty!

Convening at 7:00, we will again host the Eco-Arch Guild from the West Bank Social Center. The WBSC is located on the West Bank, above the Nomad World Pub at 501 Cedar Avenue South, on the Second Floor (see directions  here).

We are switching -up the usual program this month in order to take advantage of our involvement with the Art Shanty Projects. Rather than our typical Monday night meeting time, we will be gathering on Wednesday, Feb 3rd at the Art Shanty Projects on Medicine Lake for their Wednesday night Artist’s community potluck.

Stacy and Christopher bring together divergent educational backgrounds and combine the skills and knowledge of each into their glass forms. Stacy from the graphic design and construction fields, Christopher from a chemical/mechanical engineering standpoint.

This month we bring you local designer Korrin Lohmann. Korrin will present on her submission
to this year’s Lifecycle Building Challenge, a Green design competition encouraging innovations in residential and commercial buildings, as well as
in developing reuseable building products.

On November 2nd, convening at 7:00 pm, we will host the Eco-Arch Guild from the newly formed West Bank Social Center. The WBSC is located on the West Bank, above the Nomad World Pub at 501 Cedar Avenue South, on the Second Floor ( http://www.nomadpub.com).

Our speaker for the November session is slated to be Curt McNamara, who will present on Christopher Alexander’s “A Pattern Language” and how these theories have been extended to open source design.

We will meet in the studio of Metal sculptor Asa Hoyt, an accomplished abstract and functional metalsmith, Asa was on a team of welders who fabricated the Cloud Gate in Chicago’s Millenium Park.

The street address is 2010 E. Hennepin Ave (buildings 10 and 11), Minneapolis, MN 55413. Once you arrive, drive to the back of the compound and enter through the door by the dumpsters. After entering, take a right into the loading dock and then a left into the grotto. The Guild will leave markers to help guide your way.
